The NBA Summer League is an off-season competition organized by the National Basketball Association in the USA. It is also known as the Las Vegas Summer League and teams from all 31 NBA teams participate in the league. The competition consists of a four-game round-robin schedule, with each game played at an NBA-designated site, from which the teams advance to the championship game, which is the most important game of the tournament. Teams are seeded based on the record and play each other twice on their home court at the appropriate time in each round. Each round is a best-of-three series, in which each team must win two games to advance. At the end of each series of games, the team with the best overall record is crowned the NBA champion.

As of 2014, it is one of two summer league competitions that are part of the NBA's Basketball Champions Challenge, along with all-star games. Both competitions were co-sanctioned by Basketball Without Borders (BWB). The Las Angeles Sparks, who won the inaugural tournament in 2014 and 2016, are the only team that has ever won the overall tournament and the corresponding championship. Other notable winners include the New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Boston Celtics. In 2019, Los Angeles Kings won all six games in Las Vegas Summer Showcase and won 2nd place. In 2017, NBA announced it was organizing the second season of Las Vegas, again, as part of the BCB Challenge. This season would also be one that featured NBA All-Star games and a Las Vegas League Finals and BCS National Championship. On June 16, 2019, Las Vegas Summer Lights concluded. Most of these teams also participated in the Summer Team Challenge and The Cup. All teams played a round-robin schedule the following week. Winners of their matchups would go on to play a championship match on August 18th at a double-elimination tournament at Mandalay Bay. Las Vags Las Vegas is also a member of the Basketball World League.
